Maybe I’ll tackle the sunflower wall again before summer hits. I failed thrice and maybe I’ll fail again, but mom would want me to tuck and roll, dust myself off, tell the story, and try again.

Find ways to capture the moments. Keeping pieces for later helps heal the lacerations on the heart.
I wish we had taken inventory of the losses, but in the middle of losing so many things, none of us thought about that until bigger chunks began falling away.
It’s good to give the primary caregiver care: a break, an empathetic ear, and acknowledgement that this is hard.
… these difficult days do pass, and you might return to something similar to your old routine, but never to the “old” normal. The disease changes all of us, and on the other side it, we’re not the same.
