    Your comment (Be the garden) struck a chord. A year ago we moved from our home in the suburbs–with its ample gardens to dig and prune and plant–to an apartment with an ample-ish terrace. No more day lilies or irises for me. But window boxes and planters provide the turf for pansies and herbs. I may even try tomatoes. Bring on the garden. Even if it’s small at least it’s deer free.
